Hey everyone!!

We have officially been in Brazil for over two weeks now! Life has been crazy and packed with kids ministry, evangelism, and planning/ launching different ministry events!

Kids ministry has been a highlight! Our team has been able to pour into the children in the neighborhood next to us, which is an area that has high poverty levels and is home to many children who are in desperate need of love. We have been able to teach them Bible songs, perform Bible story skits, and connect with the students during various breakout groups! Although we cannot boldly proclaim the gospel in this setting we have been able to show these kids and teachers the gospel by the way we love them. By us bringing light to the darkness we can already feel a change in the atmosphere of this school. It feels like hope and life are alive again in this place!

A huge theme of this mission so far has been from a quote that our pastor lives by which is, “ preach the gospel and if necessary use words” ( Andy Fraisiure). This has been something our team has implemented into all our ministries! People will know us by the way we love others and by the way our lives look different. The Lord is working in this community, in these schools, and even within our team. God is alive and at work within the hearts of those in Brazil!

Our team is very involved with our host church! We have taken over Sunday kids ministry, pioneering youth ministries, about to launch a English service on Sunday nights, and have plugged into different connect groups across the city. I have loved getting to dive into community with the local families who are within our church. One of my favorite parts is when we worship in both Portuguese and English, the presence of God is so strong and powerful. It is the sound of unity between nations, tribes, and tongues.

Continue to pray for the people that do hear the gospel. Pray that others will come alongside of them and water the seeds that have been planted. Our team has been fighting some sickness and we would love prayers for everyone to be fully healed and healthy. Pray for Iares, our main point person for our kids school ministry, she just left to go back to the United States for the remainder of the Bethel training program. Be praying for her and for her family as they launch, and some decisions they are making for their family in this new season of life!

Praise God for all his mercies and blessings!
